International Day of Peace is Sunday but people in Philly started celebrating a bit early on Friday.

Students, parents and law enforcement held a peace march and cookout in Fairhill meant to strengthen the trust among them.

"It's very important that we come together with our young people because we want them to know that we are here to keep them safe and so I'm coming out here and interacting with them," Sheriff Rochelle Bilal said.

The coming together included music, food and events for the students. Some made peace signs and saw their trust in police grow during the march.
