Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz , the principals of the buzzy production company BoulderLight Pictures ( Weapons ), have been tapped to lead a new genre label for Paramount Pictures , Deadline has confirmed.
This is big news for Paramount post-Skydance merger as the pair have up till recently been under a first-look deal over at New Line. The deal goes into effect at the expiration of their deal with Warner Bros. in January 2026, at which point they will begin developing, produce and releasing a slate of the high-concept, boundary-pushing films for which they have become known. The BoulderLight duo will have the option to participate as equity co-financiers on projects within the deal.
