KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — On Friday, volunteers in showed up to give back to their community during the United Way of Knox County's Day of Caring Event.
Day of Caring is a two-day event that took place on Thursday, September 18, and Friday, September 19.
During the event, volunteers worked at sites around the community, collecting food and packing food pantries.
United Way of Knox County Executive Director Scott Charleston said they are always looking for volunteers to help support local food pantries.
"On any given day, you know, you may help anywhere from just, you know, 10 or 12 people a day to a hundred. Depends on what's going on, and these two days can help pack those pantries and give them some fresh food and opportunities for, you know, whether you're just needing today o
