A superior court judge denied a preliminary injunction to block changes made to how the Youth Development Center Settlement Fund operates.

The injunction would have halted a change that turned the settlement fund administrator into a political position nominated by the governor and gave the Attorney General’s Office veto power.

Judge Daniel St. Hilaire made the decision after hearing from three alleged victims of sexual and physical abuse at YDC and its successor Sununu Youth Services Center in Manchester.

Lawyers for those who filed suit say they plan to file a motion for reconsideration. The class-action suit represents nearly 1,500 claimants.
