ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An Atlanta Police homicide detective testified on Friday in the trial of an 8-year-old’s murder.
The jury heard the investigator talk about surveillance videos that he said he used to identify his suspect. The footage captured the moments when the Jeep Secoriea Turner was in drove through a barricaded area and came under gunfire.
Julian Conley is accused of firing the shot that killed Turner while she was in the car with her mom and her mom’s boyfriend.
Prosecutors said it happened as they drove through an area with armed protestors, near the burned down Wendy’s on University Avenue in 2020. There was already ongoing unrest in this area after the shooting of Rayshard Brooks by a police officer the month prior.
