DUNWOODY, Ga. — A motorist on Interstate 285 was both drinking and driving at around double the legal limit, according to police.
Police in Dunwoody were conducting speed enforcement on I-285 when they clocked a vehicle traveling 127 mph. The speed limit is 65 mph.
When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled but was ultimately stopped on the Peachtree Dunwoody exit ramp. According to the incident report, police followed the suspect for three miles before he stopped. One officer recovered a bottle of tequila that had apparently been thrown from the vehicle.
The driver, Elvis Kennerly, 24, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including DUI with a blood-alcohol content level of .177, about double the legal limit.
