MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Leaders from the City of Maryville and DENSO Manufacturing officially unveiled a new pavilion and arboretum on Friday as the business celebrates 35 years of operations in the city.

The Japanese-inspired pavilion at Bicentennial Park measures more than 1,500 square feet and will serve as a gathering space for residents and visitors. The new arboretum will occupy parts of Bicentennial Park, the Maryville-Alcoa Greenway Trail and Jack Greene Park.

"It's a great complement to a really beautiful greenway system we have here in town. And the fact, again, that it celebrates Denso, who has transformed Maryville over the past 35 years, without question," said Fred Metz, vice mayor of Maryville.
