MERIDIAN, Idaho — The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine officially welcomed its largest cohort of students with an annual white coat ceremony on Sept. 19.

The class of 2029 includes 225 students from 30 states. It is the eighth class in the history of the program, which began in 2018.

The ceremony also welcomed back members of the initial 2022 class, according to President Tracy Farnsworth. Those students have completed their residency, also a first for the program.

Farnsworth said one of the goals of the school is to foster Idaho talent who would return to serve the state after their training. He said 30 of the 225 students are from Idaho.
