(WJW) -- Starbucks got into hot water earlier this week, after a video showing a barista refusing to write the name Charlie Kirk on a person's to-go cup went viral on social media.

In a TikTok video, now viewed over a million times, a person was seen walking into a Yucaipa, California, Starbucks asking for a Mint Majesty tea with two honeys, which was reportedly Kirk's favorite order.

In the video posted Tuesday, the Starbucks employee said they "can't do political names," but that "Charlie" was acceptable.

Kirk, a controversial Conservative commentator, was shot while speaking at a college in Utah and later died last week.

Later Tuesday, the coffee company made note of "conversations on social media" in a statement
