CEVELAND (WJW) – If you woke up early enough on Friday morning, you might’ve seen two bright objects next to the moon.

A FOX 8 News viewer, Norm Gainer, caught the moment on camera. According to local Astronomer Jay Reynolds, the photo shows the crescent moon right next to Venus and the star Regulus.

“The viewer really played his cards perfectly!” Reynolds said. “The viewer waited until daylight was approaching and the contrast was less severe. So the photographer was able to capture all three items perfectly!”

Those in Northeast Ohio will still be able to look into the night or early morning sky overnight on Friday to see the trifecta, although the moon will appear to move quickly away from Venus and Regulus. Venus and Regulus will still appear to be near each other.
