The head of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, or PURA, is stepping down in October, ending a period of controversy and turmoil for the agency.

Marissa Gillett was appointed as chairman by Governor Ned Lamont in April of 2019 and was started a new term in the post on July 1.

Just over two months into that term, she told Lamont Friday that she’d had enough of the controversy and backlash.
