Grammy Award-winning songwriter Brett James, a Baylor University graduate known for writing hits like “Jesus, Take the Wheel” by Carrie Underwood and “When the Sun Goes Down” by Kenny Chesney, died Thursday in a small plane crash in North Carolina. He was 57.
