Dune Days panel tackles the shifting sands of Jockey’s Ridge

The ever-shifting landscape of Jockey’s Ridge State Park took center stage on Sept. 13 during Dune Days at Jockey’s Ridge , a celebration hosted by Friends of Jockey’s Ridge. The highlight of the day was a panel discussion titled “Sand Management at Jockey’s Ridge State Park – Past, Present and Vision for the Future,” bringing together park staff, community leaders, and longtime stewards of the dune to explore both the challenges and opportunities of preserving the East Coast’s tallest living sand dune.
