SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – Republican voters in Sumter County can go to the polls early in a special primary election for the only Florida Senate seat in the county.

Florida Senate District 11 encompasses Sumter County, as well as Citrus, Hernando and part of Pasco counties.

Republican Blaise Ingoglia represented the area, but he left when he was appointed chief financial officer for the state.

Early voting in Sumter County runs from Saturday, Sept. 19, through Saturday, Sept. 27. There are seven early voting locations throughout the county, which are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can see the locations on the Sumter County supervisor of elections website.

Primary day is Tuesday, Oct. 30. Any vote-by-mail ball
