ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The special election to replace former state. Sen. Jason Esteves will happen on Nov. 18, according to an executive order by Gov. Brian Kemp.

Esteves represented Senate District 35 for one term after being elected in 2024. He announced a campaign for governor in April and resigned his seat earlier this month .

The district stretches just south of Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta and skirts southward to Vinings; crosses the I-75/I-20 intersection to include Fulton County Airport/Brown Field; and ends around the southern end of I-285.

Prior to his time in the state senate, he was elected to the Atlanta Public Schools’ school board At-Large Seat 9 on December 4, 2013, and was unopposed for
