ANNA MARIA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Construction companies have spent the last week submitting bid proposals for work to rebuild the Anna Maria City Pier.
The city has received nine bids so far to rebuild after the pier was heavily damaged during the 2024 hurricane season.
Bidding opened Sept. 12.
The mayor and city staff will evaluate the bids within the next 30 days.
Mayor Mark Short said that the reconstruction project will cost approximately $8 million, funded by a combination of federal, state, county and city funds.
