A fire broke out Friday in a vacant commercial building in downtown Los Angeles, just hours after another blaze damaged a separate structure nearby.
The latest fire was reported about 11:20 a.m. in a one-story building in the 1000 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Thirty-five firefighters extinguished the flames in 23 minutes, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
Earlier, a commercial building fire was reported at 5:48 a.m. in 2100 block of East Violet Street and took 109 firefighters 44 minutes to put out, Humphrey said.
“Investigators are seeking the cause and trying to determine if there is any connection between the two (blazes),” he said.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
