A guilty plea hearing was delayed Friday until next month for a former technician at the FBI’s Los Angeles bureau accused of manipulating the outcome of bidding for contracts at the office, allowing his sister’s electronic companies to win at least $350,000 in equipment agreements from the agency.
Jeffrey Spencer, 51, of Canyon Country, and his sister, Christy Evereklian, 43, of Temecula, are both charged in Los Angeles federal court with conspiracy to defraud the United States.
In plea agreements filed with the court, Spencer and Evereklian both agreed to plead guilty to the felony offense, which carries a possible federal prison sentence of up to five years, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Spencer is expected to enter his plea Oct. 8 and Evereklian will do the same on Wednesd
