A 34-year-old man was sentenced Friday to 50 years to life in prison for his part in a robbery and revenge plot near Anaheim six years ago.

Ricardo Martin Campos was convicted in March of first-degree murder with a sentencing enhancement for discharge of a gun causing death. Campos was convicted of killing 28-year-old Eli Gamaliel Victoriano-Che May 14, 2019.

Campos’ attorney, Fred Fascenelli, asked Orange County Superior Court Judge Richard King to not make the gun enhancement a consecutive 25 years.

“I argued this was really the result of drug abuse and how drugs affect our society,” Fascenelli told City News Service.
