ROCKY HILL, Conn. — A diesel fuel spill in a Rocky Hill parking lot on Friday afternoon caused concern after approximately 300 gallons leaked from a tanker truck.

However, emergency crews acted swiftly to contain the situation, and officials confirm there is no risk to public safety.

The spill occurred when a site truck for Autumn Transportation, used for fueling school buses, developed a leak while driving through the lot. According to Ken LeClerc, the supervising emergency response coordinator with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, or DEEP, the driver was unaware of the leak until someone noticed the trail of fuel.
