A Sunday, Sept. 14, crash near the intersection of Main Street and New Castle Street prompted two people to be taken by medical helicopter for injuries and damaged street signage in downtown Butler.

According to Butler City Police Department’s Chief Robert O’Neill, preliminary evidence indicates a vehicle ran a red light and struck another vehicle proceeding through the intersection. He confirmed two people were taken to hospitals via LifeFlight following the crash.

There’s no update on the status of those who were injured. Police will release more information when the investigation is complete, and they have updates on injuries, O’Neill said.
