APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - An online group called “Stop The Noise Appleton” is aiming to quiet things down from loud vehicles downtown.
They’re hoping to give businesses and residents more peace of mind from what they call loud and unnecessary noise people make when driving up and down the road.
For some downtown Appleton residents, the noise they’re hearing downtown is getting to be too much.
“It’s not unknown for us to be woken up at 1:30 - 2 o’clock in the morning with a motorcycle going by, hitting his rev limiter or some vehicle with altered exhausts that sound like gunshots sometimes,” says Appleton resident Lindsay Schwab.
District 4 alderperson Martyn Smith, the person organizing the group, says they aren’t focused on things like cruisers or sports cars.
