LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- The School District of Lancaster plans to build two new school buildings to address declining enrollment.

One plan consolidates Prince and Hamilton elementaries into a brand new elementary school. If approved, the new school would open in 2028.

The district also wants to build a new Wheatland Middle School, sitting alongside Smith-Wade-El Elementary. That would open in 2029 and serve students from Smith-Wade-El, Martin, Lafayette and Wharton elementary schools. • An aerial view of the proposed consolidated elementary school, near the site of the current Hamilton Elementary. | School District of Lancaster • A view of the proposed Wheatland Middle-Smith-Wade-El Elementary campus. | School District of Lancaster
