A 32-year-old man suspected in a "strong-arm" robbery was arrested Friday, Sept. 19, after leading Upper Peninsula police on a 70-mile, high-speed chase that ended in St. Ignace.

The man was lodged in the Chippewa County Correctional Facility following his arrest, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office said. It's unclear whether the man has been formally charged or which charges he may face.

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office said the incident began with a reported stolen vehicle in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Sault Ste. Marie police, who handled the initial investigation, provided a description of the vehicle, including a license place, to other agencies.
