COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri will be without one of its best and most important players on Saturday when it hosts South Carolina.
Left tackle Cayden Green was ruled out Friday night for the Tigers' Southeastern Conference opener with an undisclosed practice injury.
The likely replacement for No. 23 Mizzou is Jayven Richardson, who competed for the left tackle job during the offseason and is listed second on the depth chart. Johnny Williams IV was also involved in that competition but seemed to be consistently behind Richardson in practice reps.
Richardson joined the program ahead of the 2024 season, transferring in from a junior college. He competed with Marcus Bryant for the left tackle job ahead of that campaign but similarly lost out.
