It looks like Mac Jones is going to be under center again for San Francisco.

Though starting quarterback Brock Purdy has been listed as questionable with a toe injury, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters it’s “highly unlikely” that he’ll start on Sunday. That leaves Jones in the driver’s seat once again.

Shanahan said how Purdy feels Saturday will probably determine whether he’s a backup or emergency third quarterback, but he believes things are trending in the direction after suffering the toe injury earlier this month.

“A lot of progress,” Shanahan said. “I thought he had a good week.”

So barring something unforeseen, it’ll be Jones’ second start for San Francisco.
