English singer-songwriter Morrissey has pulled the plug on two New England shows, citing a “credible threat” on his life.
The 66-year-old performer was set to headline solo concerts at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino on Friday night and Boston’s MGM Music Hall on Saturday, but instead canceled both gigs at the last minute.
“In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey’s life ,” his reps said in a statement on social media Friday afternoon. “Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonight’s engagement at Foxwoods has been canceled.”
In a subsequent message, his reps confirmed the Boston show had also been called off , saying tickets would be automatically refunded.
