With the first half of week five in the books, here are a few things to know about Hickory area high school football games.

1. Owning the line

The Trojans owned the line of scrimmage on both sides in the first half against Bunker Hill. Bandys piled up five tackles for loss and three sacks, limiting the Bears to -13 rushing yards in the first half.

2. Patriots keep rolling

Freedom scored early and often, building a 42-20 halftime lead over A.C. Reynolds. Reynolds came into the game 2-2 with wins over Murphy and Maiden. If Freedom hangs on, it will take the Patriots to 5-0 for the first time in 15 years.

3. Hickory does it again
