BELHAVEN, N.C. (WITN) - There are big changes on the horizon for the town of Belhaven.

“We have been really fortunate in recent months to be able to have received a number of grants in various departments that are going to help us move our community forward,” Town Manager Lynn Davis says.

Belhaven has received more than $3 million in grant money within the last month and a half. The funds are aimed at helping improve its water systems, wildlife resources, and flood insurance for residents.

“Anytime that we’re bringing money into Belhaven, whether it’s through grants, local tourism, or however it comes, we are happy to receive it,” business owner Amy Johnson says.
