KINGSPORT — Morristown West battled for as long as it could but ultimately fell to Dobyns-Bennett 35-0 on Friday night to open Region 1-6A action.

The ‘Canes had chances to keep themselves in the game all night. Their best chance came with goal to go to close out the first half but couldn’t close out the drive.

D-B added two scores to open the second half, and the running clock brought a swift end to the region opener.

“I thought they played extremely hard on both sides of football,” head coach Dallas Kuykendall said. “Really needed to execute and get that score before the half. I think it changes our momentum.
