SPOKANE, Wash. – Attorneys representing Kevin Coe, known as the South Hill rapist, and the state of Washington met in Spokane Friday morning. They gathered to discuss Coe's upcoming release hearing.
Kevin Coe served 25 years in prison following his conviction for rape. After completing his sentence, he was transferred to a special commitment center for sexual deviants in Western Washington. He has been held there for nearly 20 years.
Recently, a state expert stated that Coe is no longer considered a threat. As a result, Coe has requested to be released.
A trial to determine his release is still scheduled for two weeks from today, on October 2.
