PULLMAN, Wash. – The Apple Cup rivalry game is set to take place in Pullman Saturday, capturing the attention of sports enthusiasts across the state. This historic game, which has been a staple in Washington's sports calendar, is now explored in Bud Withers' new book "Too Good to be Through."

Withers, a Washington State University alum, has long been fascinated by the Apple Cup rivalry. He came up with the idea for the book in the '90s, realizing there was no comprehensive account of what he considers the nation's most iconic rivalry.

"It's one of those things that brings people together in the state, some might say it also divides them and that may be true to a point but it brings us together, it's the major sporting event on the calendar every year actually," Withers said.
