CHICAGO (WGN) - The Cook County Sheriff's Office is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the indictment or arrest of the suspects who shot at an off-duty Chicago police officer on the city's Southwest Side.

CPD said at around 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, an off-duty officer was trying to park her car in the 4800 block of South Bishop Street when multiple armed suspects confronted her.

A gunfire exchange ensued and the offenders then got in a white-colored sedan and fled in an unknown direction, according to investigators.

Authorities said the sedan was then found burned in the 4600 block of South Winchester Avenue.

The off-duty officer sustained a minor hand injury from broken glass and was taken to an area hospital for observation. No other injuries were repo
