MATTAWAN, MI–– Even down 14-0, Mattawan stayed the course.

With both teams playoff hopes on the line, Mattawan hosted Loy Norrix on Friday, Sept. 19.

Battling through a multi-turnover game, Mattawan put their first points on the board with under a minute left in the first half.

They tied Loy Norrix at 14 with a long run to open the second half. In the fourth quarter, both Mattawan and Loy Norrix put up six points, matching each other with crucial blocked PATs.

With 4.5 seconds on the clock, Mattawan had the chance to win the game with a nearly 35-yard field goal. A miss sent the game to overtime.

Mattawan found themselves in crunch time, scoring with a tush push and converting a PAT to give themselves a 27-20 lead.
