South Florida football coach Alex Golesh cautioned his players against “taking a breath” as they prepare to face FCS South Carolina State at home Saturday.

“This is a good football team,” Golesh said about SC State during his weekly press conference earlier this week. “They won their league a year ago…Coach (Chennis) Berry has done a phenomenal job. (I) didn’t know much about them until we started digging in the spring. If you watch the film, you see they’re not just talented, but they have a scheme that matches their talent. They can be explosive on both sides of the ball.”

The Bulls opened the season with wins over Boise State (ranked 25th at the time) and University of Florida (ranked 13th) but suffered their first loss last week against fifth-ranked Miami.
