FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne’s first-ever rock-climbing competition is being held this weekend.
On Saturday, ‘Basecamp One’ is being held at Summit City Climbing Co., bringing in more than 150 climbers from across the Midwest.
The event will feature various local vendors, food trucks, local music, and $10,000 in prizes and giveaways.
People of all ages and levels of experience are welcome to attend, with festivities beginning at 9 a.m.
The company says route setters have been working over multiple days to put the 30 routes in place for the competition.
“The route setting team has been spending the past couple of days here and we’re hitting that final stretch. We’re super excited for people to be climbing the routes we’ve been working on for days,” said Head Route Setter Seth S
