LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A fraudulent EBT application is currently making the rounds in mobile app stores, according to the Barry-Eaton District Health Department.
ebtEDGE is the official app used to manage one's SNAP benefits, and is entirely free to use.
However, health officials say that a fake version of the app, titled "EBT edge - food stamps," is currently being seen in app stores.
The app is reportedly charging those who download and use the app a fee.
Officials are advising the public not to download or use the app, and if you think you may have downloaded it, to delete it immediately and report it to your local authorities.
