KENDALLVILLE – East Noble running back Austin Phillips isn’t like other freshman football players.
“He’s a fun freshman to be around,” senior quarterback Rylee Biddle said. “He’s got the football IQ most freshmen don’t have and that means a lot to his game style. He knows what to do, has his eyes in the right spot, makes the right plays and that goes a long way.”
Phillips had a game against Leo on Friday that most football players, let alone freshmen, can only dream of having.
Phillips had 158 rushing yards, three touchdowns, a forced fumble and a sack in the Knights’ 56-40 home win. Most importantly to Phillips, the win moves East Noble to 5-0 (3-0 NE8) with a win over a fellow unbeaten Class 4A and Northeast 8 team.
