GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) - The downtown public square held a vigil Friday evening in honor of Charlie Kirk that was open for anyone in the public to attend.

The vigil was filled with prayer, song and healing words to remember the conservative activist.

Organizer of the ceremony Chelene Nightingale says she has never throughout her life seen someone lose their life for openly expressing their beliefs.

“To see somebody get shot down for their own opinion, their own belief system,” said Nightingale.

Not wanting to sit in silence, Nightingale knew she needed to take action, by organizing the vigil.
