MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — On Tuesday nights at La Doña, there's an open invitation to talk.
Customers gather to have conversations in both English and Spanish.
"There's always kind of groups and clubs getting together here. There's even futsol," said Reynaldo Diaz, who attended the weekly event called Hablamos Pues.
La Doña got its start as La Doña Cervecería — a Latin-influenced craft brewery.
"My family's from Uruguay in South America. Both my parents are. So I grew up in the Latino community here in the Twin Cities. When I came back from the Marine Corps in 2013 and the Surly bill had passed and all these taprooms were opening, I didn't see a lot of the kids that I grew up with out at the taprooms," said Sergio Manancero, owner, general manager and co-founder of La Doña.
