SALISBURY — A Rowan County man who has been identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of one woman has been charged in connection to the disappearance of another.

Forty-one-year-old Ricky Lam was charged with felony first-degree murder, felony concealment or failure to report a death and possession of a firearm by a felon on Sept. 14. Lam was convicted of first-degree assault in Connecticut in 2003. The charges stem from an investigation into the disappearance of 36-year-old Amber Marie Schimmelpfenning, a Winston-Salem resident, according to a release from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
