HARTFORD, CT. (WFSB) - A man is dead after a dirt bike crash in Hartford Friday evening.

Police say that it happened at around 7:14 p.m. in the area of Cornwall Street.

The man, identified as 28-year-old Jayni Powell, was traveling north on his dirt bike in the area when he crossed over the southbound lane and struck a tree. He was suffering from life-threatening injuries when police arrived.

He was transported to the hospital and died due to his injuries.

An investigation is active.
