Andress scored touchdowns on all five first-half possessions, which was far more than its swarming defense needed in an 40-7, weather-shortened rout of rival Chapin that kept the Eagles a perfect 2-0 in District 1-5A Division II (3-1 overall).

Chapin fell to 1-1 in district (1-3 overall) and had trouble keeping up early on in this one, when the only thing that went wrong for Andress was a long lightning delay with 2:15 remaining in the third quarter when it was already ahead 40-7.

After a two hour delay, Andress was declared a 40-7 winner.

Almost everything Andress was doing on offense worked in the first half, particularly the power running of Carmelo Jones, who had three first-half touchdowns when he rang up 132 yards on 12 carries.
