With Perth’s long and unusually wet winter in the rear view, a cherished summer tradition is just around the corner.

The city’s beloved summertime night markets are set to return, bringing with them a vibrant sense of community and delicious food.

The Subi Night Market will kick off the season on Saturday, followed by the Twilight Hawkers Market in the CBD on Friday, October 3, and the landmark Scarborough Sunset Markets on Thursday, November 6.

The event manager, Kate MacKinnon, who oversees all three markets, said the events spark a transformation in the people of Perth.

“It’s like a full shift in the psyche of everyone in the communities,” she said.

“The markets have started becoming a symbol for beach days, summer nights, catching up in the park.”
