At least once a week, groups of tweens and teens gather at Kylie Osborne’s Karnup beauty salon for makeup and skincare parties.

Over the course of two hours the excited girls, usually aged between 8 and 12, learn how to look after their skin, are guided on which products to avoid and are shown how to apply natural make-up.

Ms Osborne started out with school holiday workshops a few times a year, but over the past 12 months demand has reached the point where she is hosting kids’ birthday parties once or twice a week.

She is among a growing number of local businesses catering to an insatiable thirst for beauty and skincare, fuelled by TikTok, in young girls.
