Queensland's measles outbreak is growing with a third region reporting a case of the highly infectious virus.
A rural town in central Queensland is the latest community affected, after a case was recorded in Middlemount.
The Mackay Public Health Unit today confirmed a person became infected earlier this month in the small community of around 2,000 people, three hours south-west of Mackay.
The contagious disease is spread by coughing or sneezing, or through direct contacts with secretions from the nose or the mouth.
The Public Health Unit issued a warning that people who visited the Middlemount Gym between September 12 to September 18, and the Middlemount Shopping Centre on September 17 may have been exposed and should be on the lookout for symptoms.
