Newcastle has advanced to a fourth NRLW preliminary final in as many years after a dominant 34-20 win over Gold Coast.

In front of a home crowd in Newcastle, the Knights took an 18-0 lead into half-time off the back of 63 per cent possession and a 93 per cent completion rate.

There was a Titans fightback with four second-half tries but it took late for the visitors to challenge the Knights.

The Knights now meet Brisbane in next weekend's preliminary final at Lang Park and will be desperate to produce a better showing than in round eight when the Broncos beat them 46-16.

"We will need to back up some of our errors with good defence," Knights halfback Jesse Southwell said.

"We made a lot of crucial errors, but our middle pack carried hard and took us forward." Loading Twitter conten
