HELENA — One play can change a football game and the 67-yard touchdown reception from Helena High's Peyton Lorenz was a reminder of that.
Trailing Kalispell Flathead 14-7 at the half on Friday night, the Bengals, playing on homecoming night at Vigilante Stadium, needed a spark.
Lorenz, a senior running back/linebacker, provided it. He took a simple swing pass from Reece Silvonen on the first play from scrimmage in the second half and scampered 67 yards for a game-tying touchdown.
"In that moment, in that spot, we needed a play and Peyton made it," Helena head coach Dane Broadhead said. "We blocked it up well, so kudos to those guys on the outside. That was a huge play right out of the gate."
The Bengals, who trailed twice in the first half, wouldn't trail again after Lorenz's touchdown
