CHASSELL — The area’s high school cross country season hit the midway point on Thursday as runners descended upon the Chassell trails for the annual Blue Bolts-Panthers Invite. While the boys’ side of the race saw no changes with Jeffers dominating with a perfect score of 15, the girls’ division had a new winner.
The L’Anse girls posted a score of 34 for the top finish. That top spot included second, third and fourth-place finishes by Princess Pierre (21:47), Lily Froese (22:17) and Kwynn Voskuhl (22:27), respectively.
Bree Besonen, of Ewen-Trout Creek, came in first at 21:47. Behind L’Anse in second-place for the girls was Calumet (51) and Ewen-Trout Creek cane in third (63).
