SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — JSerra’s climb from an 0-2 start into a spot in the Orange County football Top 10 encountered an opponent Friday known for halting Trinity League success.

Leuzinger highlighted its 2024 campaign by edging Santa Margarita in a nonleague game that sent shock waves through Southern California. “That’s the biggest win in the history of the school,” Leuzinger coach Jason Miller said.

JSerra quarterback Gino Wang and his wide receivers made sure the Olympians didn’t collect another stunner.

Wang threw a 26-yard touchdown to Clark Cokley with 51 seconds left in regulation to lift the Lions to a 39-35 victory in a back-and-forth game at JSerra High.
